In 2004 the GFA voted to create a video for the membership. The final product, in both VHS
and DVD formats, will be mailed to you for the low price of $15.00 each for GFA members, and
$25.00 for non-GFA members. You may purchase multiple copies for your family members.
Note well: this $15.00 offer is being made only to members whose membership dues are current
for 2006. If your dues are not up to date, please send $15.00 dues along with your order for the
video. If you do not wish GFA membership, please send a check for $25.00.
The video is 33 minutes in length, and it details the first four generations of Matthew Greenell's
descendants. The video is professionally narrated. There are fourteen "Grinnells" whose
histories are detailed because of the extraordinary nature of their lives or their importance in our
family tree. The video contains photographs of many of these persons (photography began in
the 19th century). There are lists of Grinnells in the US Congress, mammals and birds named by
Joseph Grinnell (latin names with grinnelli appended), and geological features discovered and
named by George Bird Grinnell. The video is alive with sounds of birds, railroads, ocean sounds
for the many whaling merchants and boat captains, and music for the Grinnell Brothers Music
House. You are probably aware that many of us belong to the Mayflower Society because of the
marriage of 3rd generation Daniel to the granddaughter of John Alden and Priscilla Mullins. The
Mayflower and list of passengers is included. There is so much more.
Your copy of the video can be augmented by adding movies, photos and videos of your
immediate family members to make this a more personalized living history of the Grinnells. To
order, please complete this downloadable form (PDF format) found at this link and mail with your check for $15.00 ($25.00 for non-members) to "GFA" to: Hugh Grinnell, 10290 N. Alder Spring Drive, Oro Valley AZ 85737
